John Dies At The End – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror (2018) – Day 5

John-Dies-at-the-End-2012-movie-Don-Coscarelli-4This movie could be described as the love child of H.P. Lovecraft, W.S. Burroughs and Harold Ramis, but instead it is the brain child of writer/director Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, The Beastmaster, Bubba Ho-Tepp). And it’s awesome.

I went into this movie without knowing anything about it other than it was a Coscarelli movie. That was enough for me. I feel it is my duty to allow others to go into the movie the same way so I’m not going to say anything exacting about it. Basically, all you need to know, this film is a whole lot of fun and you need to be prepared for anything. It also features great turns by genre vets Clancy Brown, Doug Jones and Angus Scrimm. Also, I’m pretty certain I will never be able to look at a doorknob the same way again.

Best Line: “Apparently, it’s ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ world.”
