Ultra low budget, ultra violent movie. Starts off with a bang, but slowly goes out with a whimper. The script ranges from clever to contrived, but there’s enough originality to hold one’s interest.

The first of the series is still the best. Extreme gory, very original, creative deaths and a jaw dropping twist ending. It’s enjoyable and continues to be creepy.
Beautifully filmed Michael Mann movie. L.A. should definitely get character billing. Moody, taut, nicely paced. Cruise makes a great baddie.
