Guillero del Toro’s first American movie. It’s a slick modern update on the mutated creature features of the 1950s. I watched the director’s cut. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the theatrical version so I couldn’t tell you the difference, but I enjoyed this alternate version. Solid story, great creature design and effects, great cast. A lot of fun.
