Rory Calhoun and Beulah Balbricker play siblings and together they run a backwoods motel with a pig farm attached to it. And things are not what they seem. This movie is so fun. Not as much gore as you’d expect from the subject matter, but what it lacks in violence it’s balanced out with very dark humour and a whole lotta camp. What I like best is that everyone is playing it straight; no one is winking at the camera. I don’t know much about Calhoun, but whenever I hear his name, I immediately hear Mr. Burns from The Simpsons saying that a puppy reminds him of “a young Rory Calhoun.”
