Heart And Souls – Quickie Review

I cried like a bitch a couple of times, one of Downey’s most underrated performances.

Four stars

Cabin Boy – Quickie Review

Best nautical themed movie to feature David Letterman, but that’s not saying much.

Zero Effect – Quickie Review

zeroClever, funny detective story. Bill Pullman’s best.

Over-sexed Rugsuckers From Mars – Quickie Review

RugsuckersBeatClassic ’80s low budget sci-fi schlock, so bad it hurts. I love it. Find a copy, that’s my review on the back cover.

Apocalypto – Quickie Review

apocalyptoTwo words: Bloody. Awesome.

Entourage – Quickie Review

entourageHonestly, I haven’t seen it; the trailer was plenty. I will never see this movie unless a snuff version of the film is released.

Serbian Film, A – Quickie Review

serbian_film_002The one movie that caused me to ask myself, “Why am I watching this?” Very disturbing, not for the weak stomached. I still didn’t turn it off.

5 Faves: Football – Drama

Titans1. Remember The Titans
2. Rudy
3. Friday Night Lights
4. Any Given Sunday
5. Draft Day

Continuing with the sports genre, we arrive at football. I think I prefer watching football films more than watching actual football. Titans is my favourite, hands down. It has everything you’d want it a football movie: drama, comedy, hard tackles, comebacks, inspiring speeches, etc. However, it you read up on the real story, it’s astonishing how much it differs from the movie. If I ever feel like a good cry, I just throw on Rudy. There’s 4 or 5 times in the movie when the tears just flow. Sean Astin is perfectly cast. Friday Night Lights feels purely authentic. Billy Bob is strong in the lead. Pacino is the only reason to watch Any Given Sunday. Dynamic performance, rousing speech. Draft Day is funny to me. The ending is 100% implausible, but it’s highly entertaining. Great ensemble cast.

Let’s Scare Jessica To Death – Quickie Review

I saw this as a kid, I haven’t seen it since. It scared the bejesus out of me. However, it’s probably pretty tame by today’s standards. Rewatch mandatory.
