31 Nights Of Horror

Nekromantik – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 11 / Film #1

Showing this video is about the most PC I can get when describing this movie. While it doesn’t sum up the whole film, it’s a fair comparison to one scene in particular. Just replace the brownie with a decomposing corpse. Brownie Husband – Saturday Night Live by konbini

Rite, The – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 10 / Film #5

An American seminary student who is questioning his faith is sent to Italy to learn of exorcism from a priest experienced in the subject. The standard is set pretty high for movies about exorcisms, but this one is far better than other wannabes. It helps that it has a story we haven’t seen before. Hopkins …

In Fear – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 10 / Film #4

A young couple gets lost in a maze of back roads while trying to get to a music festival. This movie expertly builds tension very slowly. Since most of the primary events take place in a car, it gets very claustrophobic. The last 30-45 minutes are extremely intense. A riveting firecracker of a film.

Dinoshark – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 10 / Film #3

I’m not 100% sure, but I think this movie is based on actual events. If not, it seems pretty authentic and plausible. I mean, Roger Corman isn’t known for schlock. The actors in this movie put on a clinic and I’ll bet ILM shit their pants when they saw these effects. This movie made me sad.

Evil Dead – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 10 / Film #2

There’s no way this could ever top the original, but I’d have to problem stacking it up against any horror remake or most recent horror films. This movie is so gory and the practical effects are grotesque which to horror fans translates to awesome. This doesn’t have the fun camp like the original, but that …

Sleepaway Camp – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 10 / Film #1

Classic camp slasher flick with a twist ending most people already know about, but just in case I wouldn’t mention the thing. Very progressive for the time. Some suggestive deaths, but not graphic by today’s standards. Also, what’s up with dudes in half shirts in the ’80s?

Demon, The (1981) – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 9 / Film #4

You know what? I can’t even be bothered. This movie is a pile of baked horseshit. I can’t believe I watched the whole thing.

Bad Milo! – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 9 / Film #3

This centres around a married man who has stress induced gastrointestinal issues which end up manifesting into a little demon that can come and go out of the man’s arse whenever things intensify and kills the source of the stress. Key to a horror-comedy: come up with a ridiculous premise, cast comedic actors, have them play the …

Don’t Look In The Basement – Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 9 / Film #2

I must open this review with a warning. If you’re only interest in this film lays in the hopes of some hot basement related action, you will be sorely disappointed. Within this review’s intro, I have literally exceeded the number of times the word “basement” is actually uttered in the movie. I’ve now said it …

Eden Lake – Quickie Review: 31 Nights Of Horror – Day 9 / Film #1

Imagine a more extreme and far more graphic version of Deliverance expect replace Burt & Co. with a young couple and the rednecks with a gang of British youths. Disturbing violent at times. A realistic view of peer pressure and watching a bad situation escalating to the worst scenario possible.
